"Active Blue - water-friendly school" is an educational program of Polish Waters, which, thanks to cooperation with schools, enables learning about sustainable water management and safe rest by the water.
The aim of the "Active Blue" program is cooperation with a network of schools for the science of sustainable water management, flood protection, drought prevention and safe rest by the water. The program gives the opportunity to conduct lessons in the field, get acquainted with hydrotechnical facilities and the principles of their operation.
The organizer is the Polish Waters National Water Holding. The second edition of the program (school year 2020/2021) is conducted by RZGW in Białystok, RZGW in Bydgoszcz, RZGW in Gdańsk and RZGW in Gliwice.
In addition to chamber classes, students will receive study visits, visits to hydrotechnical facilities with experts in Polish Waters, lectures at schools with the participation of Program Partners, including Police and WOPR. After completing the program, each school will receive a "Water-friendly school" certificate.
