Project: Design a statue of Jesus.
Read about the 10 most famous statues of Jesus below. Then design your own statue of Jesus. You may draw it or sculpt it using anything you may have. I recommend the cuppa-cuppa-half-a-cuppa or the papier mache clay dough recipe.
Draw LIGHTLY with pencil at first. Add details and even shading if you can.
You may add color carefully, using colored pencils or crayons. Markers can be too messy.
Draw the surrounding environment for your statue.
Think about the parts of your statue:
• base - what shape is it?
• clothes - usually a tunic or robe
• legs/feet - do they even show? Shoes, sandals, bare feet?
• arms - spread out, up, holding something, or down?
• face - expression?
• head - hair style, crown?
• size - how big is it?
• color and material - what is it made of? Stone, marble, metal, wood, etc.
Write your first and last name and grade neatly at the bottom left corner. Email photo to mekross@syrdiocese.org.
