How to Turn on Accessibility Options on Your Chromebook

Below are step-by-step directions on "How to Turn on Chromebook Accessibility Options". Or if you are more of a visual learner scroll down to the bottom of the page for a 2 minute video tutorial.

  1. In some cases, you can simply click on the "Time" icon on the bottom right, and then click "Accessibility" and the options will then be displayed for selection. (If this is not the case, see #2 below)

2. If you cannot open accessibility from the "Time" icon then do the following:

Step 1: Activate High Contrast Mode temporarily by clicking on CTRL + search key + "h"

Step 2: Click on continue and the colors on your screen will be inverted temporarily.

Step 3: Now click on the accessibility option on the bottom right. A list of options will appear. Scroll down to "High Contrast Mode" and uncheck it unless it is needed. We only opened this option to gain access to Accessibility. Then scroll down to see additional options/settings.
