Our inquiry process has six stages that every inquiry goes through. Every stage needs specific skills and understanding and the steps to develop competency in these are outlined in our progressions.
Teachers explicitly address these skills and understandings, using consistent language across the school and ensuring this learning is visible in every inquiry in every classroom.
The six stages are not strictly linear and evaluation is part of every stage.
We are excited and curious about the big ideas in inquiry.
We have a can-do attitude.
We ask questions.
We research different ideas and perspectives.
We acquire knowledge.
We pull ideas together.
We think critically.
We work with others to take action and / or make or create something that answers our question.
We share our learning.
We hear how other people have answered the question.
We think about how we are growing as inquirers (at every stage of our inquiry).
