A Word From
Mrs. Kitts
September
September
Our first four and a half weeks of school have come to and end and only four and a half more until the first nine weeks are over! Hopefully, over the last four weeks you have communicated with your child's teacher and heard all the wonderful things they are accomplishing throughout the day. We have sixth grade helpers who are out in full force at the end of the day - whether it's shadowing Ms. Ingels in IT, helping our Head Custodian Ted troubleshoot a maintenance issue or reading a story to a first grade class, I love seeing the leadership from our sixth graders this year. They have really set the bar high!
The month of September symbolizes the start of the busiest few months in an elementary school. What's even better is that there are opportunities for families to get involved at school! Our first PTA meeting will be Wednesday, September 13th at 5:00 in the SCES Library. Our first All Pro Dad monthly breakfast meeting will take place on Thursday, September 14th at 7:15 a.m. in the SCES gymnasium. We hope that you will have time to participate in these two wonderful events!
At the end of the month, we will celebrate CollegeGo! Week. During this week, we discuss opportunities and share information to our students about what life after high school could potentially look like. Whether it's enrolling in college, enlisting in the military or employment, we know planting a seed early will continue to help our students make informed decisions about their futures. This year we will host an event called - Touch a Truck where students will be outside to check out the different trucks on-site and the professionals that drive it. We are very excited about this event and the opportunities it will provide our students. You can find more information below.
Parent/Teacher Conferences are nearly upon us. We hope that you will take advantage of this opportunity to meet with your child's teacher and hear about all the progress they have already made this school year. You can sign up for your child's parent/teacher conference by clicking the Upcoming Events tab and scrolling to the bottom. If you are having issues, please call us at the school and let us know!
As always, please reach out via phone or email if you have any questions. I find phone and email being the two modes of communication that I am the most efficient with. As much as I like Dojo, I do not always get those notifications in a timely manner which may cause delays in communication.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Ashley Kitts, Principal
