For students in grades 3-6, they will take the Clearsight Interim Test three times during the school year. This test allows teachers to look at each student's data, understand strengths and weaknesses and ultimately show growth over the school year. This information helps guide teacher's whole and small group instruction
The first test is given at the start of the school year in August/September, second test is given November/December and the last test is given in February/March. We give the last assessment at this time so that it can guide our instruction before we head into state assessments. Ultimately, we want students to keep confident in their ability to take the test not so much the score.
Children in grades K-2 will take the Clearsight Survey test only two times a year. They take it in August and then again in May. Since it is the same assessment, students will be able to show growth and mastery of the tested standards.
Clearsight has the capability to author and administer additional assessments to students. We will often use this capability to administer quick checks for understanding over state standards that have been taught.
As stated above, Clearsight assessments help us support students who still need support in understanding the standards and enriching those students who have already mastered them.
