For the first grading period and part of November, band performs as a marching band with the purpose of developing musical skills and concepts using movement as a learning tool. All band students are required to be in the marching component of the class. The band begins mandatory rehearsals in the summer and plays at several musical performances, football games and parades throughout the fall (see individual program calendars for more information.) Fall athletes who do not rehearse or perform with the marching band will meet during the school day. Beginning mid to
late November, all students are divided into ability-based concert ensembles, which are the primary means for musical growth and advancement. Being a performance course, attendance at all rehearsals, concerts, competitions, and performances is required of all students.

Students produce segments and gather relevant information from multiple print and digital sources, using advanced searches effectively. They integrate information into the production while avoiding plagiarism and overreliance on any one source. This course will interest students who enjoy dancing and singing. This choir will perform around the community and in local schools. Students will participate in various contests around the region. It is strongly recommended that each student participating in show choir enroll in a minimum of either men’s or women’s chorus in order to maintain vocal stamina with proper technique.
