Course Specifications
Digital Media
Level: Level 2
Entry Requirements: Grade 3 or above in your GCSEs.
This qualification will provide you with the opportunity to master the industry specific skills and knowledge needed as well as improving your organisational skills and teamwork. You will learn how to plan and pitch a digital media product, write for digital media and design digital graphics.
Film Studies
Level: Level 3
Entry Requirements: Grades 5 or above in your GCSEs including English and mathematics. It is also desirable for you to have at least a grade 5 in English Literature.
You will study a range of films from a broad historical and global perspective. Exploration of modern successes such as Inception and La La Land will be contrasted with analysis of the Golden Era of Casa Blanca and Hitchcock's Vertigo.
Media Studies
Level: Level 3
Entry Requirements: Grades 5 or above in your GCSEs including English and mathematics. It is also desirable for you to have had previous experience in studying media at Key Stage 4.
This course will engage you in an in-depth study of media products; language, representation, industries and audiences. You will develop your practical skills, which will allow you to apply the media theory that you have learnt. This will be in the form of a cross-media campaign based on a set of design briefs. You will study a range of products from all media forms.
