We are in a career-tech consortium, South Stark Career Academy (SSCA) with Canton South, Perry, and East Canton.
These are our partner schools for recruiting, application, placement into programs, and shared transportation.
Placement is competitive and relies on a point system (GPA and Attendance). Sandy Valley has a number of “seats” reserved per program. And so, SV students are initially competing against each other for those seats. Once SV and other partner seats are filled, then students are placed by highest points in the consortium for that program.

Attention, Sophomores and families,
Here is the application for South Stark Career Academy career-tech/vocational programs at Canton South and Perry:
As a reminder, grades and attendance from last year and this year will determine placement in these programs. Also be aware that Perry programs require early transportation -- provide own transportation to catch our bus at 6:25 am or provide your own transportation to Perry. We do have a bus that picks up from Perry in the afternoon to bring kids back to Sandy Valley. Also be aware that students need to be able to drive their Senior year for Cosmetology and Culinary.
These are due December 20th by 11:59 pm! Applications that come after that will go to the bottom of the list.
Do not hesitate to contact me if you have questions!

OTHER CAREER TECH PROGRAMS
If a program is offered within the SSCA consortium, students will apply through the SSCA application process. There are other, unique career-tech programs at locations outside our SSCA consortium (such as RG Drage or Buckeye). Offerings vary and program seating is subject to the policies and agreements of those locations. Transportation is typically the responsibility of the student and their family for programs outside our consortium, although we currently do bus to RG Drage.
