Apprenticeship / Trades
"Registered Apprenticeship combines on-the-job training from experienced workers, and related technical instruction (classroom learning) from industry leaders, to teach the practical and theoretical aspects of a skilled occupation. Each Registered Apprenticeship program is sponsored by an employer, an employer association, or a labor management committee for one or more organizations.
The Registered Apprenticeship system provides full-time work for an apprentice during the training period, as well as adequate wages and quality instruction. A portable credential that is recognized nationally, and often globally, is issued to apprentices that complete a registered apprenticeship program." (ohiomeansjobs.com)

"Ohio is investing in apprenticeships because business is booming in Ohio and employers can’t keep up with the demand for skilled workers. From manufacturing to medicine to computer technology, apprenticeships in Ohio cover a wider array of occupations than ever before."
