On January 20th (day 12) our new born fish hatched in to the "wild" in the big fish tank. Alevins are tiny fish that rely from there yolk sack.
Once they are done feasting from their yolk sack they will need to find food.
Alevins are fragile and their orange bellies stand out in the gravel. As a result, they avoid light and are generally more active at night. In Chinook Salmon, 70% of the weight comes form the yolk sac, the other 30% comes from the embryo.
