What to know about Trout
There are 3 main types of Trout, Rainbow, Brown, and Brook.
Trout also like to live in Lakes.
Trout like to be in the cold part of the waters.
They give birth in rivers and streams.
Brown Trout produce up to 2000 eggs.
Brown Trout can live up to 20 years of age.
To lay their eggs they need to make a redds. What are redds you may ask well they are depressions on the bottom of the river created when the fish are spawning.
By the age of four trout are 8-12 inches long.
Trout usually travel in groups.
Trout don't have scales when they are born, for the first month.
The majority of the trout die after their first birthday.
Trout have teeth on the roof of their mouths called vomerine teeth.
Trout have elliptical eyes, which allows them to focus on food and approaching predators at the same time.
