IB Music (11th and 12th Grade)
At the end of 10th grade, Sturgis students choose their IB classes for the second half of their high school careers. Students that choose IB Music as one of their classes engage in a portfolio-heavy curriculum that gives them a better understanding of culture at home and abroad.
IB Music is more than just for students that want to become professional musicians. It's for everyone and anyone. While the coursework does improve the student's musicality and skills as a performer, it also hones the skills that they need for college with research and analysis that requires a balance of objectivity and subjectivity that is needed for academic achievement in the humanities. With that said, it's also a lot of fun! Students love having part of their day for IB Music!
