The MaKey MaKey is an invention kit that encourages users to find creative ways to interact with their computers by using everyday objects as a replacement for keyboards and mice. The MaKey MaKey includes a two-sided circuit board, alligator clips, and USB cable.
The MaKey MaKey is for anyone: artists, kids, educators, engineers, designers. Users can investigate conductive materials and programming (command input), for the computer just thinks MaKey MaKey is a regular keyboard (or mouse), so it works with all programs and webpages. Once students navigate how to use the Makey MaKey, they should be encouraged to create their own programs that can the tool can interact with.
The MaKey MaKey is a great introduction to physical computing prior to Raspberry Pi or Arduino.
