About

According to the Learning and Technology Policy Framework (2013, Alberta Education), access to technology is a necessary piece to student-centred learning. Thus, since 2015 different technologies have been made available for Sturgeon teachers and students to access with the purposes of exploration, investigation, engagement and play.

Over the past two years, an energy has been building. We are seeing BYOD, maker spaces, design challenges, coding and robotics in our schools. The division kits have sparked creativity, discussion, learning and collaboration in the various sites and classrooms they have entered. Students are engaged, eager to take risks, make mistakes, and try again. To encourage this momentum, the division kits have expanded to include even more resources.

Check out the Innovation Kits page to see what's available and how to borrow one for your classroom.
