Hi!! I am Isabelle. I am a junior at Staples High School and I am a part of the Food in Lit Spring 2022 class. I love to cook and I use my creativity to spice up recipes and make them my own. I run track so I am always hungry and love that I can come home and create a masterpiece that will be healthy while still filling me up. I took this class so that I could further my knowledge and get the opportunity to utilize the school's kitchen equipment that I don't have at home.
My theme that I chose is based off of tapas. Tapas are a small bite of food that originated in Spain. These recipes mean so much to me since my family went to Spain 5 years ago. We tried many different foods and once we came back home we recreated each and every one of the foods that we tried. From that point on many of our meals consisted of tapas sized foods so we can have multiple foods during each dinner.
I have cooked dinner with my mom every night since I was around 7 years old. This has given me at least 9 years to learn how to cook. Over the years of cooking, I have made many different types of foods, which has increased my repertoire of techniques. I am able to make whatever comes to my mind and put my own twist on it.
