This is introduction photo. It consists of many important things in my life and represents who I am/my likings. The base of it all is a blanket my grandma got me from India. The apron represents I love to bake and has dogs on it. The photo in the middle is a picture of me at my grandma's garden in NY. I love the out doors and be adventures, so I love flowers and nature. I have some drawings/doodling/paintings I made such as the eye and the flowers. I also have my dog collar in the corner as I love dogs and my dog. I also have seashells around the whole piece as my family and I go to a lot of beaches and always get sea shells. Finally I a floral elephant bag my grandma got with me at the market in India. I Also, love chick fila and snow boarding/skiing as I put my snow googles there.
This is a drawing of a goal I have is to relax and just live more in the moment. I drew a girl just siting and just thinking/being relaxed.
This is a photo of the hand drawing.
This a drawing of a rolling pin at my home in my kitchen drawer. I choose to draw this for my kitchen drawing.
This is the tree drawing I drew. I like eerie looking trees and drawing them without leaves.
A goal I have for Art 1 class: A goal I have for Art 1 is to get better at using color pencils and to shade better. Also to be able to draw more realistically.
Here is the four contour line drawing practices for 10 minutes each. I choose to draw a hand, an apple, my mirror in my room, and a butterfly I have on my wall.
This was my drawing of the 3 sketches. Its showing up this way instead of sideways, sorry.

What I went off of for my final drawing.
Final Drawing paragraph...My final drawing overall is a replica of a photo of a knife I took. Three things I learned from this graphite unit is how to draw contour lines, make my lines clearer, and overall how to give drawings more figure and shading shape. Some challenges I had during this unit was when we had to do the shading assignment with shapes with the video. I struggled to make my shading light and I kept making it too dark shaded or it didn't look round/shaped enough. I overcame this by starting off light and then slowly adding more pressure for highlights/different perspective looks. In my final drawing, I like how I angled my drawing and tried to make it look realistic. I wish I could have still worked on the background/make it look more realistic. Also, just try to work on making the knife look more shinny, but that itself was a struggle while making this final drawing.

This is my final drawing.
Three things I learn from this pen drawing unit is how to cross hatch, give things value, and how to make in-depthness with different pen techniques. Challenges I had during this pen unit was getting proportions and making sure I wasn't making my lines too dark to seem to in-depth. I struggled with random lines to make it more in-depth and light. I fixed it by starting off light and slowly making it transition in-depth look. I think in my final drawing I am happy on how I made the fur on the dog look and how the directions are. I wished I could have worked more on the background and add more direction to the fur to make it look more realistic.

My final photo!
My final is a portrait of my neighbors dog, Oreo. He is a English lab and I took the photo of him at my neighbors house when picking up my sister. He is the best dog ever, very cute and friendly. From doing this assignment, I learned how to shade and do proportions better. I think I improved on getting shapes right and after trial and error, I got the head shape correct. I think this also taught me how to use charcoal better. I think I like my nose part of my drawing the best, its shape got exact. I think I struggled on the body of the dog and how to show highlights/shading of it. I think using the grid method really helped overall get proportions right when sketching/in progressing the final.

Perspective I used in my final drawing is one point perspective. I used my understanding of perspectives from practicing through the assignments we did and getting inspiration from online photos of road perspectives. I used pencil colored techniques by making my drawing very waxy and pressing hard, but making it blend as well. I did the blending method of overlapping and tried adding shading to some areas. I am proud of the whole piece, especially the trees and how the blending looked. I would probably do the road a bit more different as making it smaller and adding a car possibly? Overall, I am happy with my piece and think I did a great job.

I choose to paint an expressive dog. I choose to paint an expressive dog because I think dogs are beautiful animals that have so much detail and color to them. Techniques I used in my piece I learned throughout this unit was the salt method on the ear, using the plastic wrap method to get a gradient, and lastly over laying of colors to create a gradient. I choose to use the salt method to give the ear more vibration and more in-depthness to it. I used plastic wrap method to get a gradient type look and over lapping colors as well to create a gradient type shade. I think my successfulness of this piece is the mouth as I was troubling drawing it in the sketch, but persevered and got it right in the end. I am proud of the overall piece and tried my best to make it gradiented and flowy.
Water color day: Flowers

Using random tools day on clay. Had fun!
Final clay piece!
Designing
This clay unit was very fun! I learned a lot about textures and how clay dry types are/how its cooked. I learned that clay has 3 different types of hardness to clay and how it takes about a week to fully dry. I learned it takes about a week to dry and then you put it in the kiln. You have to make sure its fully dry and not have any softness, etc as your result when fired could turn out bad/explode. Also, if your clay is hard add water and it will become softer again. I think the dots I had was my most successful part of the piece as at first I was having difficulty with placing them evenly, but I redid them and it ended up looking pretty cool. I used a pen for them and you can see little blue dots from the pen. I liked learning that different things in my home make different indents in clay and how pretty it looks at the end.
Final!

A collage I made.
I am very proud of my final and enjoyed this unit a lot. Techniques I used in this piece is collage work as I tried to overlap images I found and also used marker to draw/make expression. I used this technique as I think overlapping images is very beautiful and really makes your piece come alive. I also drew images on the side and used the media I found from a magazine to represent nature and happy vibes. I am really happy/what succeeded is the overall theme of the piece shined through to show adventure and flower/nature. I like the flowers I drew as they add a lot to the piece. If I could change anything about the piece, I would change the colors of the bird as they are quite exotic, but I am not mad at it. :)
