This assignment was an essay to do about traditions and reflections of the main characters of the story Raisin in the Sun. I found this piece of work okay, it was a bit hard as I felt lost. After creating a draft, I got more confident and understand it more. I am proud of my introduction and how clean it is. It proves I can write introductions nicely as in the past I had trouble with them and can do good quoting. I would redo some body paragraphs if redoing this assignment as I could have fixed some grammar and made the essay more clean after looking at the reflection comments. I learned how to write smoothly with transitions and how to quote well/right. No SAQs. It taught me to take more time and really understand a topic before trying to do it alone,
Flipgrid was done as well.
This assignment was about creating a piece of work based on a poem you were assigned to read. I found this work medium as the drawing part and thinking of how to express the poem was hard. The drawing part, when I got an idea of what to do was easy. I didn't know exactly how to express discriminations. I ended up showing a visual scene of discriminated between blacks and whites. I am proud of the hands drawing and art work I did correlating to my reasonings. It proves I can explain work more elaborately at times. I would have added more drawings of freedom if done differently. Also use more colors to express hatred/more expression. I learned and felt what blacks went through, through reading and explaining the poem on a more deeper level.
Final Drawing! (Flip grid was done as well)
This assignment was about creating a piece of work representing a famous scene and quotes from Romeo and Juliet book to show our understanding of the play. We had to record a flipgrid explaining why we choose the scene we did/explain the piece. I am proud about the drawings I did and how they reflect themes from Romeo and Juliet. It proves I am capable of drawing decently and can make propaganda acts. Also, shows I can convey my work through art and words as well. I found the most difficult of the piece was choosing one scene from Romeo and Juliet that really captured what the whole story was about. I choose the masquerade scene where Romeo and Juliet first met. The easiest part of the work was drawing and thinking about which props represented Romeo and Juliet the best. If I were to do this assignment differently/begin this assignment over again, I would have changed the color tone and where I put my sun and sun as I wish they were shown more vividly. After completing this assignment, I learned how to explain your work in a way that captures and elaborates what you are trying to convey. It taught me I can draw decently and the process of creating the piece, like where things should go and how to organize your art.
This assignment was about comparing a Romeo and Juliet balcony scene from 1996 or the 2013 version. We had to choose which one we liked better and explain why, etc. This work was fairly easy, I found comparing and explaining why I liked the 2013 scene better was easy as I had my facts ready. The most difficult part of the work was explaining why the 1996 balcony scene was not in my favor as I found it very cheesy and not representing from what was written in Shakespear's play, rather its more different. I am proud of my claims and thesis I made in this piece regarding why I like the 2013 scene better as they are strong, vivid, and compulsive. It proves I can make great introductions and strongly introduce my thoughts and ideas to the reader/convince them that the 2013 scene is better. If I were to do this assignment differently/begin the assignment all over again, I would like to redo some of my body paragraphs as I got a little bit receptive with one of my claims, they both had the same concept but conveyed differently that ultimately looked similar. Overall, I am proud of the piece and how strong my claims and evidence I had were to show why the 2013 scene is better than the 1996 balcony scene of Romeo and Juliet.
