Soft Slab Construction

for this project we were asked to create four soft slab mugs with a unifying feature.to create these mugs i first rolled out a large slab of clay. Then i cut a rectangle the height of the mug and long enough to wrap around a tennis ball container. i then attached the ends of the slab to eachother around the container. i then cut out a circle slab of clay to fit the bottom of the mug and attach that.after smoothing out the sides of the mug i cut a long strip to make a handle. after attaching the handle i make everything smooth i take out the container. i choose the same color for all of my mugs i chose a blue color for the outside and a yellow for the inside of the mug. i havent seen them out of the kiln but so far i am very pleased with the way they look and i am very excited to see them.
