Artist Statement:

The main idea behind my duck is I thought a water duck would be fun to draw and I chose this duck mostly because the duck I wanted to do was not native to North America.

The water was made first with colored pencils, then I went to block out the colors with charcoal then I decided to use a different material because I did not like the way it was turning out. I had to use it to make my duck look realistic in a way, by using watercolor pigments. When I finished the duck I really thought it might need a little more flare to it or something else in the water so I chose to make Lilly-pads.
