Artist statement

For this project, my goal was to make an old character (such as this club penguin character) and have it portray new pop culture while giving you that old nostalgic feeling of the game.

For this, all I needed was my laptop, with photoshop, and 2 reference pictures. 1 picture for the LV print and 1 picture for the shape of the original club penguin body.

How I started this project off was I first off did the outline of the body because I knew that was going to be my base of everything as everything would revolve off of the character. Once I got done doing an outline or my character I then started adding things one at a time, first being the top had because it was cool and funny (something you could buy in the old club penguin shop) and I felt as though that would make it feel even more nostalgic if you actually have played the game before. Then after that, I went on to the LV print to show the new pop culture in the character. that was decently easy, I then went on to make the planet and sized the feet according to the planet making him look very big compared. Lastly. I finished up with the black background and the pink beams of light coming off of the planet in the background.
