Assemblage

For this project I was assigned to make a recycked sculpture and I chose a turtle. I chose to do a turtle for this project because it was almost my moms birthday and she loves the ocean, and recycling.

The materials I used for this was Pencil, Cardboard, Scissors, Hot glue, Newsprint, Painters tape, map, and elmers glue + water solution.

The process for this piece was very long and tricky. First I had to trace out my shapes and glue them all together, then once that was done I cut out strips of cardboard and glue them on the turtle in a rainbow shape to make it look like a shell. After that I stuffed the skeletal looking turtle with news print to provide support for it to stay up.  Once I filled the inside I taped it up on the outside so then I could take the glue solution and glue my map pieces all over. Once that was done I have a recycled turtle for my mom now.
