STEM Chem

Abstract

For the first semester of my junior year, the virus, COVID-19 restrained us from being able to participate in a traditional classroom setting. However, in order to provide the education we needed, along with the safety necessary for our health, San Marin has provided an online, "Zoom" based learning system. With this new learning system came a new curriculum, with each class lasting only one semester rather than the full school year, meaning I only had one semester to learn an abridged version of a year of chemistry. This test of not only my patience and perseverance but my sanity taught me great time management skill and a deeper sense of empathy for not only my fellow students struggling to keep up, but my teachers as well, forced to change their entire teaching style to fit into four months instead of eight.
