For this project, we were tasked with breaking apart an object of our choice and researching how it worked. It was an individual project, and I brought in a free speaker to take apart. I started by taking off all of the stickers, labels, and rubbers to uncover the screw. Next, I unscrewed all of the screws with a tiny screwdriver to uncover the motherboard and the bass. Along the way, I drew multiple conceptual sketches of the speaker, which I added below. I also created a flow chart for how I think it works, and I explained the need for the product.

This project was a valuable, but humbling start to this class for me. I had enough time in class to fully break apart my speaker, but I wish there was a little bit more time to research how our products work. The object I chose could've been a little too complex for me, just because this was my first time ever doing something like this. I had absolutely no idea how a speaker worked and I am still confused about it. I had access to all of the tools I needed; I mostly just used tiny screwdrivers. One thing I think I did well was managing my work and research time properly. I was on task and used all of my class time wisely. Another thing I think I did well was reaching out to my peers for help because they had a lot more experience with doing this kind of stuff.
One thing I think I can improve on is doing some more work for this class at home. I ultimately ran out of time for this project and had to turn it in late. This is very unlike me, and I don't want it to become a habit. Another thing I want to improve is my understanding of the content. In the future, I will do a lot more research and try to find resources that use simple terms. This subject doesn't come very easily to me, so I will have to work extra hard to do well.
