My name is Emily Moran, I've grown up in Northern California and attended Dominican University of California for my undergraduate degree in English Literature and Language Arts and am currently pursuing my credential and Masters in the Multiple Subject Education Program, also at Dominican University.
I took several years after finishing my bachelor's degree to try out different jobs and industries but I always knew that I wanted to become a teacher and I am very excited to be making this a reality.
I believe that a good education goes far beyond the subject matter presented to a student; it relies heavily on the system and the teachers that represent it. I have attended public school for almost the entirety of my life and have been very fortunate to have had excellent teachers that embraced, challenged, and celebrated their students’ achievements. I truly believe that a good education creates the foundation for a healthier and more enriched life. I want to become a teacher because I want to share my passion for learning and bring stability and excitement to young students’ lives while supporting the many different kind of students and families that pass through the public-school system. I strongly feel that education is the culmination and integration of facts and topics that are taught in different subjects, which is why I am becoming a teacher in the multiple subject credential area.
Here is a brief overview of my classroom management plan! I look forward to continually developing this in my future classrooms with the help of my classroom and peer community.
