Communication is something that many of us take for granted, but in the classroom it makes all the difference in a students understanding and absorption of a concept or idea. It is very important as teachers to foster good communication and the successful use of educational discourse with peers and their others.

Creating differentiated lessons and experiences for students with special needs is an important element of teacher planning. As a group, we developed a Universal Design Math Lesson plan for future students with a focus on supporting autistic students.

I believe that math is a very collaborative subject and that it is important to work closely in small groups, partners, and whole class settings in order to really develop your understanding.

Having an engaging, equitable, and conscious classroom is one of the biggest goals that I have as a prospective teacher. In order to be successful, it is important to have effective classroom management skills. One of the most important skills is knowing the signs for disengagement among students and how to successfully reengage them in the classroom.
