Portrait of Myself

I really anticipated doing this drawing, and I really like the way it turned out. I started with the outline, then the neck, and moved up from there. My shirt had very little detail in the picture I was using, which is why there isn't that much detail on the shirt in the drawing. The one part of the drawing that I think doesn't really fit, is the eye because they aren't proportional. Other than that, I really liked the way it turned out, and the way the shadows looked. I especially like the way the hair looks, it looks really close to my hair in real life, like the curl for example. My favorite part of this drawing was the eyes, because there's so much detail, and eyes look so amazing. This definitely helped me get better with shading, and using the different shades of pencils, and blending everything together. This is probably the best drawing I've ever done in my life. I liked doing it.

Blood Orange Painting

This is my favorite of all the art projects I've done in high school. I painted a picture of blood orange lemonade because it is one of my favorite drinks. It started off slow, with the background because it was hard to blend the colors to look right. Once I figured out the secret, going fast, it was really easy and fun. It was weird doing that though because usually you have to go slow and take your time to make it lookm good, but when you go fast with this, it blends together well and it just flows. I really liked blending all the colors together, and just making the change from red to pink along the glass. It just looks so good, the shadows look amazing, the fiery color of the lemon looks incredible, the subtle outlines of the ice, I just love the way this whole thing look. It would be fun to do more of these types of paintings because I had a lot of fun doing this.

Scratch Art Duck

I started this fast, and tried to make it look like a rough texture as most Ducks are, and I think it came out really good aside from the legs which could've used more work. The grass is a nice touch. I'm gonna try to do more of these because I like the way they look. I did a duck because it's my favorite animal.

Watercolor Of My House

This isn't the worst art piece I've done, but it's definitely not the best. In hindsight, I wish I would have gone with my original picture instead of my house but it is what it is. I really like the brick, sky, and power lines but that's about it. As you can tell, I messed with the shadow of the house a lot and I think I just did too much giving it that weird effect. I think it would have turned out a lot better if I had taken more time on the bark (yes that's supposed to be bark not dirt), because it covers the most of the picture. I also think no shadow would be better than the awkward looking shadow in the picture. I'm not upset with the way it turned out, I just know I can do better and I think that's a little bit of what fueled me to make this next art piece look so good.

Light Runner (Colored Pencil)

I never thought this would look this good. I did my vehicle on the light runner from the movie Tron Legacy because I think it's a really cool looking car. I never thought I could actually make it look like the photo I was using but it turned out so much better than I thought it would. Colored pencils are nice because you can layer colors to get the specific color you want, like watercolor. Not only is this my favorite art piece I've made, it's my favorite way of doing it (watercolor). After I finished the car I tried making a shadow which did not turn out so well, and after a while of trying to fix the shadow and conversing with Mr Langmaack, I decided to cut it out and put it on thin foam pieces on this new black paper to make a small 3D effect and a natural shadow which doesn't show up well in the photo on the left but it does from far away. If you look closely you can see thin strips of the original beige paper on the outline, which I will eventually fix. Nevertheless, this is gonna go up in my room.
