Humans have been forced to work together from the beginning to achieve their aims, overcome challenges, generate more ideas, and develop their skills. Teamwork is important due to the fact that it enables each individual to contribute effectively to their desired goal. From what I have learned in the class of Dr. Makhfudzah Mokhtar, there were different activities that would allow us to interact with one another. For instance, the first activity that we did is the introduction game ourselves since it was our first day, Dr. Makhfudzah instructed us to introduce each other in a creative way by asking our classmate’s basic information that would describe ourselves and after that, we are going to present it in front of the class. Basically, that activity already allows us to reach out and gather information from our classmates through effective communication.
Everyone needs resilience and enthusiasm to succeed in their goals and objectives. Moreover, during our class yesterday, I learned that being a member in a team should also be an active member in supporting the group since it will serve as Internal support to the whole group. While as for the leader, it is imperative that he/she has courage and integrity to boost the members' self-esteem. As a result of our activities and discussion yesterday, all that came to my mind was “communication and teamwork”. As an engineering student, communication skills are important for presenting concepts and designs and are critical to the engineering design process. Hence, Engineers with the ability to clearly communicate can confidently present their ideas to decision-makers in presentations, meetings, and reports.
In conclusion, Engineering Seminar (3101) is important to us students in view of the fact that it helps us improve our communication skills in an effective manner which is essential in our future careers. Hence, this course will motivate us to be confident in dealing with different situations that we may encounter. A saying goes "No man is an island." No one person can be everything to everyone. Functioning in a team is sometimes required, but working successfully in a group is possible. Learning how to accomplish this successfully and applying all of the above steps with your peers is the greatest approach to guarantee that you are on track to meet your objectives while also establishing a positive atmosphere at work.
To accomplish a goal, a team will work together with other people. As the most crucial part of a group assignment, teamwork is crucial. It may be necessary for colleagues to work well together, regardless of circumstances, and will try to cooperate, using their individual skills and providing constructive feedback. Also, a team member must be treated with respect and his or her talents should be respected. Both your abilities and their abilities can be fully utilized here if you play to your strengths. To be successful, your team must follow the guiding principle of treating others as you would like to be treated.
