Introduction
The speaker for the Week 10 ENG3101 Engineering Seminar is Assoc. Prof. Dr. Noor Ain Bt. Kamsani is from the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering at UPM. She obtained her Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) and her Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Electronic Engineering from the University of Glasgow. She worked as a tutor at UPM from the year 2007 until 2011. She was then a senior lecturer for around eight years at UPM, where she did teaching, learning and research on IC Design and Validation. In 2020, she became The Head of the Industrial Training & Mobility Unit, where she coordinated industrial training and mobility for undergraduate students at the Engineering Faculty. She is currently the Associate Professor at UPM and has been part of the UPM family for 16 years.
What is Outbound Mobility?
Outbound Mobility is a programme where the exchange of students occurs at an international institution or university abroad. Both local and international students who want to experience studying abroad can join the mobility programme. As of the year 2022, UPM has collaborated with more than 180 universities from all around the world to help its students gain experience studying abroad. Students can only get a tuition fee waiver if they choose institutions with an MOU/MOA with UPM.

UPM Travel Grant
Over the years, the Public Service Department of Malaysia and the committee of UPM Mobility have devised the financial implications for the UPM mobility programme and are country-based.
All applications will go through the Student Mobility Committee chaired by the Deputy Vice-Chancellor, usually on the 3rd week of each month.
Completed documents must be sent before or on the 15th of each month.
Types of Mobility Programs
Short-term studying abroad experience as part of a degree programme at a home institution (min. of 1-2 semesters & max. of 12 months)
Research and fieldwork (>2 weeks)
Internships and practical experiences (>2 weeks)
Study tour and workshops (>2 weeks)
Virtual mobility program (min. of 1 day & max. of 1 year)
Part A: Application
receive endorsement from faculty or college
receive an acceptance letter from the host university acknowledging the programme
submit a complete application form to the faculty for verification & supporting letter
faculty submits documents to the international centre
Approval
applications with complete documents will be screened before being brought to the meeting for approval
approval letter and results of the forum will be sent in 7 working days to faculties or college
Part B: Payment
successful applicants' documents will be screened
applicants will be sent to the bursar
payment will be processed
the bursar will credit the amount after receiving the documents
Return
students will fill in the report & feedback form for the mobility program to the international center

apply for approval to go abroad and Outbound Mobility Incentive from International Centre by submitting complete documents to Putra International Centre by the 15th of each month.
