After completing this Task I feel a little more confident with After Effects as I have used it briefly in the past but now I have developed a better understanding of the layout and now I know how to create a short animation for a object moving.
Task 1
First, I uploaded After Effects and placed a simple background with floor on the screen. Then I took a PNG image of a ball from the internet and uploaded it into After Effects, followed by me creating positions for where the ball will follow and where it will hit the ground. After that I made the ball rotate at certain points to look more like what a ball would do mid-air. Once I finished that I quickly tested it and the result was smooth as planed.
However the video was lost when I came to compress it a few weeks later, as only the background appeared on the video.
Task 2
For the second Task I used the Netflix show Stranger Things intro as a reference to create my own version like it. First I started with a dark red background then I added each letter separately as I would need to animate each one. Once finished altering each letter and making it more like the shows, such as increasing the glow and making only the outline visible. From starting in reverse, I made it so the letters all come together last and start from randomly across the screen. With that finished I tested it a few times until it was smooth.
After Completing this Task I'm starting to feel more confident with After Effects, as just like the first Task I have learnt new skills such as how to altering the text in many different ways.
After completing both Tasks I now have more improved confidence on this Software and will find it easier next time I animate.
Task 1
First I uploaded a video of two other members of the class acting onto After Effects. Then I imported a premade lightning effect and changed the colour to make it look more realistic and placed a origin and destination for it as well as the correct timing for it to appear. Once done I changed the light intensity around the effect so it looked as if it was emitting light.
After completing this Task I now feel more confident using effects and I now know how they work as well as changing the light intensity and uploading videos. However the video was lost when I came to compress it a few weeks later, as only the lightning appeared on the video.
After completing this Task I feel a little more confident when using multiple platforms at once, as I feel I could recreate this process but better next time. As well I have learnt some new skills such as creating a greenscreen and making a cinematic camera shot.
Task 1
First I uploaded a video from the Google Classroom of a still shot of a desk onto After Effects, then I found a 3D model of a Pokémon character from Google and downloaded it. After that I imported the 3D model onto a website called Mixamo that did the rigging for me and made the character do a short animation. Once done I imported the result onto Unreal Engine and created a greenscreen backdrop so I could later cut it out, followed by a cinematic camera shot of the animation. With all that completed I placed the video back onto After Effects, over the top of the still shot and once the greenscreen was I added a shadow for the character to make it look more realistic.
However the video was lost when I came to compress it a few days later, as the character didn't appear on the video.
