Art Fundamentals
Task 1
First, we used the technique of "Heads as units" experiment (draw multiple head shape circles one beneath the other, which determines the height of the character). Then I roughly drew around the first circle and then I experimented with the proportions of the characters body shape. It was also important to remember to create multiple layers, as separating both the drawing and the circles allowed me to remove the circles without affecting my drawing. After that I finished off by adding rough lines as shaded spots. To recap this, we had to draw a rough drawing of a male figure.Â
I found this task to be enjoying as I find it therapeutic when drawing/sketching, also I'm confident in art and have done this stile of art before.
Task 2
After completing the first task I tried experimenting with different proportions such as female. I followed the same staring point as the first task "Heads as units" and removed it afterwards which then I finished it off the same by adding rough lines as shaded spots.
This time I found the task to be a bit harder as I haven't experimented drawing a female form before, although I did feel I have done a good job.
After completing both tasks and learning new methods/skills on Photoshop. I now feel more confident with the site and I'm keen to learn more skills like this in the future.
Task 1
I started with one line going across the page then placed a dot on the line which is called the Vanishing Point (where all the lines meet) and then I experimented with an outline of a road and buildings at a T-junction. I kept altering the size and shape of everything as I wanted it to be perfect, as well I added some shading and detail to one of the buildings although I needed to remember this was a practice and I needed to try out both 2 and 3 Point Perspectives as I did lose track of time.
I found Task 1 to be easy as I've done 1 Point Perspective before so I'm familiar with this stile of drawing although I haven't done it on Photoshop before, so I have learnt something new like how to use the Line Tool.
Task 2
For Task 2 I started the same as the first Task but with two Vanishing Points. This time it was a bit harder as the two shapes under neath are 1 Point Perspective as I kept making the mistake of repeating the first Task, but the pyramid is 2 Point.
I found Task 2 to be a bit challenging, but I did manage to complete it in the end.
After completing both Tasks, I feel more confident with Task 2 although Task 1 I have done many times before (on paper). I haven't been able to complete Task 3 as I spent more time on Task 1, so I didn't have time to start it.
