Voice of Democracy Scholarship
Since 1947, the Voice of Democracy has been the Veterans of
Foreign Wars’ (VFW’s) premier scholarship program. Each year,
nearly 27,000 high school students compete for more than $2
million in scholarships and incentives. Students compete by writing
and recording an audio essay on an annual patriotic theme. This
year’s theme is, “Is America Today Our Forefathers’ Vision?”

Conducted nationwide, this VFW-sponsored youth essay
competition gives students an opportunity to write essays
expressing their views on an annual patriotic theme.
We invite you to join the more than 73,000 students who
participated last year in this contest.

The Wiesbaden Education Association is offering three $1000 scholarships this year. If you would like to apply, the details are below. For all three, the eligibility requirements are:
Student wishing to apply must be a current senior, graduating in June 2024 from Wiesbaden High School.
Scholarship will be for $1000, payable to the school or post-secondary institution that the winner is enrolled in.
Application deadline is Tuesday, May 21, 2024 at 11:59pm.
WEA General Scholarship: This scholarship is offered by the Wiesbaden Education Association. It's designed to help support a graduate of Wiesbaden High School in their post-secondary education.

Nancy Senn Fine Arts Scholarship: This scholarship is in honor of Ms. Nancy Senn, a former fine arts teacher in Wiesbaden. It was established by her family, friends and colleagues, and is intended to help a student who is pursuing post-secondary education in the fine arts (music, art, theater, etc.)

Sally Jones Education Scholarship: This scholarship is in honor of Ms. Sally Jones, a former teacher in Wiesbaden. It was established by her family, friends and colleagues, and is intended to help a student who is pursuing post-secondary education in the Education field.

Explore your potential with Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC). Gain valuable skills, a college education, and become a leader in the Army. High school students who apply for ROTC are eligible for scholarships covering up to the full cost of tuition, plus money for personal expenses and books.
Expired Scholarships
As one of the nation's largest need-based college scholarship programs in the country, the Horatio Alger Scholarship Programs specifically assist high school students who have faced and overcome great obstacles in their young lives. While many programs are directed primarily to recognizing academic achievement or leadership potential, the Horatio Alger Association seeks students who have exhibited determination, integrity, and perseverance in overcoming adversity, as well as have critical financial need.

Iota Delta Sigma Alumnae Chapter supports education, the arts and other community building activities throughout the KMC area. Our mission is to provide resources for charitable, civic and direct service programs. These include scholarships, educational assistance and partnerships with other agencies to magnify community impact.

The Hagan Scholarship is a nationwide need-based merit scholarship, providing recipients with the opportunity to achieve their goals and graduate college debt-free. Applicants must graduate from a high school located in the United States. Applicant’s Adjusted Gross Household Income reported for 2022 Federal Income Tax Purposes must not have exceeded $100,000. Free workshops, Free Schwab Brokerage Accounts, and Free Study Abroad provide recipients with a practical understanding of important life skills not typically covered in the school curriculum. Recipients graduating college while in the Hagan Scholarship Program can apply for a Hagan Graduate Scholarship good for up to four additional consecutive semesters.

The Scholarships for Military Children program is open to unmarried military dependent children under the age 23 who possess a valid Uniformed Services Identification (USID) card. In addition, a student's parent(s)/sponsor(s) must be one of the following: active duty, reserve/guard, deceased, or retired from the Army, Marine Corps, Navy, Air Force, Coast Guard, or Space Force. Zeta Phi Beta Sorority
The members of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc., Mu Theta Zeta Chapter of Germany are pleased to invite graduating seniors from your school to apply for our 2023-2024 Scholarship. Each year, our chapter proudly hosts a competition to award a $1,920 scholarship to a deserving student attending a DoDEA high school in Germany. To be eligible, applicants must also meet the following criteria:
Minimum Grade Point Average (GPA): Unweighted cumulative GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
Active participation in community service
Applicants must submit a completed application including a 500-1000 word essay, a transcript, a college acceptance letter (if available), and three (3) letters of recommendation.

Valley Forge Military College
This unique program offered exclusively at VFMC, is a competitive scholarship which enables 10 students to receive a full tuition that covers their education here at VFMC. After 2 years these students not only take with them their Associates degree in one of 10 transferable majors we offer, but those in this program also leave with a Commission as an Officer into the Pennsylvania Army National Guard.
First prize of $5,000 is open to all college-bound, high school seniors who submit an essay application through a Chapter of the Fraternity.
Each year the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) awards multiple scholarships to students showing dedication to the pursuit of higher education in diverse areas of study including history, economics, law, political science, medicine, nursing, occupational and physical therapy, elementary and secondary education, chemistry, math, science and English.
