Resources
We all need a little help sometimes! Our counselling team is dedicated to the academic success of each of our students.
We are constantly watching for early warning signs that students might be struggling academically and consider each student's unique set of circumstances to guide them toward effective resources. Below are some resources you can use to get some extra help in your courses.
Wednesday Scholars
A WHS specific program
Every Tuesday students are welcome to join our current and retired certified teachers; from 3:00-5:00.
NHS Peer Tutor
A WHS specific program
Our National Honors Society members also offer peer-to-peer tutoring. Any WHS student can speak with the counselling office or the NHS Sponsor (Coach Cook or Ms. Reckhemmer) to be connected with a peer tutor.
NHS works to match scholars who have previously taken the class and had the teacher the student is requesting help with. As an added benefit, the students providing tutoring earn service hours.
Saturday School
A WHS specific program
Saturday School is a monitored study hall opportunity on selected Saturdays mornings throughout the school year.
Contact Mr. King to set up time.
Advisory
A WHS specific program
On Gold Days students can be requested by a specific teacher to work on assignments and get extra help from their teachers.
Focused Advisory
A WHS specific program
Small group advisory is an option for those students who qualify. See your counselor for more information.
Assessments
