Web 2.0 is a community of web-based apps that can be used on multiple platforms (Windows, MacOS, smart phones, tablets, Chromebooks, etc). At one time most of the Web 2.0 sites were free and few required logins. Unfortunately, many of these sites now require the user to create an account or sign in with a Google or social media account. These image editors don't require an account. However, they do offer an upgraded version with a paid account. Students can use Chromebooks with the free accounts to edit photos, pictures, drawings, etc.

Adobe Photoshop Express: Works in Microsoft Edge - Right click on the hyperlink, choose Copy link address, and paste in the Microsoft Edge address bar.
BeFunky: Free Online Photo Editing and Collage Maker.
PhotoScissors Background Removal Tool: is a free image editing tool that you can use to remove the background from your images. PhotoScissors is available to use for free online. While you may register you don't need to register to use the background removal tools. Simply upload the photo and then paint a sample of the area you want to keep with green and the area you want to remove with red. Download the results.
Wixie: Rucker students and teachers sign in to Clever and then select Wixie. With Wixie you can create drawings, slideshows, work collaboratively, and add voice and music.
Google Draw: Parker ES students and teachers sign in to your Google account, open Google Drive and open new Google Drawings.
Make Beliefs Comix - Make Beliefs is a fairly well-known site that has a variety of characters that can be used in pre-made templates. It’s already popular in schools — both in mainstream and ESL/EFL classes.
