Clever

Clever is a single sign-on portal for students, teachers, and all district staff. DoDEA has added applications based on grade level and your profile (ie teacher, student, educational technologist, etc) You will automatically receive a Clever account based on how you are entered in Aspen.

Some of the programs in Clever include:

Students in grades 3-6 log on with their Google account. Students in K-2 log on with either a username and password or a QR code badge provided by the classroom teacher.

School Staff must meet the following:
1. Status = Active
2. Primary/Email 1 ends with dodea.edu
3. Type is one of the following: 'Administrator', 'Assistant Principal', 'Principal', 'Counselor', 'Info Spec', 'Ed Technologist', 'Inst Designer', 'Teacher'
4. Staff School in Aspen is Active
Above-school staff must meet criteria 1 and 2 above as well as…
- Staff Type 'Area Staff', 'District Staff', 'Ed Technologist' must have no primary school.
- Staff Type 'HQ Staff' must have no primary school AND no Org2/Region assigned.
Students must be Active in an Active School
Courses/Sections must be in the currentmaster schedule –this means the schedule must be committed.
School/Org must be active and belong to a district or have “Virtual” in the name if it belongs to a region.

* Data is synced every 4 hours so changes within Aspen are not available in Clever immediately.

** Aspen Data synching is typically turned off just before Aspen Year-End-Rollover (YER). While the sync is paused, no new data from Aspen is entered into Clever. Thus, any data that is changed or added in Aspen will not appear in Clever until the syncing resumes.
