You enter the hallway to see a large variety of different booths. People from all different types of backgrounds with diverse experiences and artistic careers stand behind each table. A chance to realize that your creativity may not only be a hobby, but a fulfilling life long career. The creative career showcase welcomes colleges, art programs, professional artists, and students of all ages to come together to represent and learn about all types of creative fields. There were 3 main events at the showcase; college booths, creative professional's displays, and guest speakers.
The guest speakers each had around 20 minutes to explain their journey to selecting their career, what jobs their career includes, and other characteristics and aspects to their profession. The professional displays were also very popular among the crowd. With an array of different professions, each attendee could find something enticing or intriguing. Each presenter had examples of their work for display, curated visuals, and were delighted to answer questions for viewers. Lastly, the appearance of Russell Sage College, Union College, Hartford University, SUNY, Savannah College of Art and Design, and RPI were highly appreciated. College and program representatives guided attendees through questions and comments. Attendees were provided with the opportunity to explore their options for education, and gather information regarding, programs, portfolios, and requirements.
The Creative Career Showcase provided students and other attendees with both the information and inspiration to continue their artistic passions into adult life. The event overall allowed attendees to explore their interests, ask questions and get a better understanding of how creativity leads to a successful career path.
