The SOS program is a universal suicide prevention program for schools. St. Therese participates in this program with grades 6th-8th. The SOS organization has shared some helpful resources for students, parents, and teachers. Please take a look at these resources and feel free to build conversations with your parents and explore the topics and activities about helping a friend, asking for help, and the protective factors that build our resiliency.
In middle school classes, students in grades 6th-8th were taught the ACT message to help a friend and be able to identify protective factors to keep them become emotionally resilient. Please check out these new resources from SOS (https://sossignsofsuicide.org/act-home) to explore ways to highlight these learned concepts!
