🎀 October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.
This month reminds us of the importance of early detection, regular screenings, and supporting those whose lives have been touched by breast cancer. Together, we honor survivors, remember those we’ve lost, and stand in solidarity to raise awareness and hope. 💗
If you haven’t connected with your child’s teacher yet, now is the time! Our second round of conferences will take place on Thursday, October 23. During conferences, teachers will review your child’s progress, explain results in detail, and share strategies and resources to support continued growth.
A strong partnership between school and home is essential for student success — let’s keep working together to support every child.
Thank you, as always, for your partnership and support! 💙
We are entering our second round of conferences, and our staff is preparing to set goals for the academic year that align with both school and district priorities. Our focus remains on continued improvement—especially in student learning.
We also ask families to partner with us in this important work. Student success depends on three key ingredients:
School: We are committed to teaching the standards and providing engaging, high-quality learning experiences.
Family: Parents help by ensuring that students have healthy daily routines and support learning at home.
Student: Students show up each day ready to learn and give their best effort.
Together—school + family + student—we can make this a successful year for every child! 💙
It’s that time of year again—Trunk-or-Treat is back! 🍬👻
Our Brilliant Falcons have had a blast at this event in past years, and we can’t wait to keep the tradition going!
📅 When: Friday, October 24, 2025 @ 5:30 PM
📍 Where: Franklin Elementary Parking Lot
We need your help to make it a success:
🚗 Decorate a trunk or parking space with a fun, spooky, or creative theme!
🍭 We ask ALL participating families to donate one bag of candy. On the day of the event, we’ll divide the candy evenly among all the decorated trunks so every car is stocked and ready for our Falcons.
🎁 Starting in October, we will begin collecting candy donations!
Please drop them off in our MONSTER BOX located in the main office. 🧟♂️🎃
⏰ If you are setting up your trunk, please arrive by 5:00 PM so everything is ready for the fun to begin.
✨ Lots of fun, laughter, and sweet memories are guaranteed! ✨

Veterans Day Celebration : Help us by inviting Veterans to our special Veterans Day Celebration
We are excited to share that Franklin Elementary will be hosting our Veterans Day Celebration on Friday, November 14!
📅 Date: Friday, November 14
🍽️ Lunch: 1:00 PM
🎖️ Assembly: 2:00 – 3:00 PM
This special event is our way of honoring the brave men and women who have served our country. Mrs. Coletti will be teaching patriotic songs to our Brilliant Falcons, making this another very special tradition at Franklin.
We would love for as many veterans as possible to join us. Please help us spread the word to family members, neighbors, or friends who have served. If a veteran is able to attend, please have them RSVP by Sunday, November 9 by emailing Mrs. Johnson or completing the short survey below:

🍎 Food for Kids – The Backpack Program
You are not alone—many families experience food insecurity, and support is available.
Through a partnership between Sterling House and Sodexo, students at Franklin Elementary can receive a bag of food every Friday to take home. Sterling House prepares the food bags, and Sodexo delivers them directly to our school.
To participate, each student must have a completed registration form on file.

We encourage families who could benefit from this program to register. This is a wonderful resource to help ensure all of our students have what they need. 💙
Finally, safety and fostering a positive school climate are priorities at Franklin. Please talk with your child regularly about being active in their learning and following school expectations. Please also encourage kindness, respect, and inclusion to help us maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all.
Thank you for entrusting us with your child’s education. Together, we will ensure every Brilliant Falcon soars to new heights. Let’s make this a year of curiosity, achievement, and celebration!
With love and gratitude,
Mrs. Arlette Johnson
