It looks like winter is upon us! With the colder weather come questions about delays and cancellations. Please review the important weather-related information below:
⏰ Delayed Opening Schedule (Grades K–6)

The District will send an automated voice call and text message to all families. I will also update information on ClassDojo. Local news services will share updates as well.

Attendance Reminder
One important data trend that our school, district, and the Connecticut State Department of Education review regularly is student attendance. Attendance is the first step toward a successful school year, and keeping the school informed is essential.
If your child must be absent for a doctor’s appointment, please send in the doctor’s note so we can mark the absence as excused.
A reminder that any student with 9 or more absences in a school year is considered chronically absent. When this happens, the school attendance team is required to meet with the family to create a plan to support improved attendance.
Last year, our team worked very hard and we saw a 10% decrease in chronic absenteeism from 2023–24 to 2024–25. This year, however, our current data is showing an upward trend.
We kindly ask for your partnership in ensuring students are present and on time each day. Together, we can support strong routines and help every child succeed.
Thank you for your continued support!

WARRIORS
C: 203-556-6843 | E: Warriors_est.2022@outlook.com
Hello Parents,
My name is Coach Brown. I began coaching in 2020 and decided to form my own league in 2022 - and that's how the WARRIORS were born. We are currently looking for players in 5th and 6th grade to join our team.
Our program runs from December through March, with practices held Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4:45 PM to 6:15 PM at Franklin School. We will have one game each week, and at times we are invited to play outside of Stratford, which is an excellent experience for all of our players.
Our fee for the season is $370, which includes:
• Uniforms
• Practices
• Games
While charging a fee is one of the hardest parts of what we do, it is necessary to cover the costs that allow our program to run successfully and continue to grow. We are excited for another great season of teamwork, development and growth. Please feel free to reach out with any questions. We loo forward to having your child be part of the Warriors family.
Warm regards, Coach Brown - Warriors R1 Basketball League
