Teaches and promotes student data and privacy through his or her instruction and role as an educational leader.
LMS provide Digital Citizenship lessons at all levels, stressing the importance of a strong password and keeping personal information private
Students enter ID number into Destiny through a keypad so they do not have to verbalize their number at checkout
LMS follow federal privacy laws to keep checkouts confidential if students are 16 and over
LMS follow Policy 2522 regarding police and parental access to library information
LMC Educational Assistants are trained in privacy laws
Policies in place regarding how student names can be posted online and in printed publicity
Parents can opt out of having student information posted
Utilize PaperCut so sensitive materials are not printed and left sitting out
Securly Classroom is available so teachers can monitor what students are doing on their Chromebooks if they choose to do so
Staff required to use Multifactor Authentication (MFA)
LMS are involved in creating guidelines around data and privacy for staff and students in the use of AI
New process in place to allow students to change their passwords regularly using their Chromebooks instead of logging into a desktop, making it much easier to change passwords often
Provide more teacher training on digital citizenship so they can model it for their students
Expand digital citizenship lessons to include parent involvement through newsletters and workshops
Work with the Technology Department to implement ClassLink or Clever if purchased
Continue to update and facilitate Common Sense Media Digital Citizenship lessons or lessons from another source
