Cultivates Community Partnerships
Cultivates partnerships within the school and local community (including families and caregivers, nonprofit organizations, government agencies, public and higher education libraries, businesses) to promote engagement and a community of readers.
Our libraries work closely with the Public Library
*Promotion of Public Library events in the schools
*Public Librarian promotes Summer Reading Program by coming to the elementary libraries
*Public Library obtains multiple copies of books for SHS Book Club monthly
*Public Library card sign-up events during Open House
*Sandhill 1st grade takes a field trip to the Public Library every year
Cooperation and support of Working for Kids groups at each building
SASD LMS provide and maintain book baskets at various locations throughout town for families to read together including coffee shops, doctor's offices, Primal Gym and Stoughton Tumblers

Organize Family Game Nights in collaboration with local game stores to encourage family engagement in the library
Organize Family Literacy Nights in collaboration with local organizations to encourage family engagement and promote reading and literacy skills through engaging students, families and the community in fun and educational activities
Partner with organizations such as Dogs on Call or Healing Paws, Inc. that bring therapy dogs into schools to read with students
Invite community leaders into our schools to read the books that are listed on our monthly antiracist resources
Collaborate with organizations such as Mosaicos to create programs or events that highlight diversity and inclusion
Find more ways to collaborate with local businesses and organizations by asking colleagues in other districts what they are doing
