Weeping with Christ

As we looked ahead to the 6th Sunday in Ordinary Time, we discussed with the children what Jesus might have meant when he said, "Happy those who weep.  They will laugh!"

We explored how, during the hardest and unhappiest times in our lives, we are often more aware of the kindness and compassion of others.  We can understand this support as the love of Christ himself.  It is through the words and actions of others that we see God's hand at work.  

So, we have encouraged the children to be ready to face adversity and to see, at those most challenging of times, the goodness of God's kingdom working around them.
