St James Catholic Primary School

(Remote Learning Portal)

A message from the Principal

Dear Parents,

In the weeks leading up to the end of Term School 1, the staff at St James have been working together on site, and collaboratively online to plan and prepare for Remote Learning. The current times have been a challenge for everyone in the world. We are all doing our best and modifying how we work and teach in line with changing government recommendations.

This Remote Learning Portal named (St James Catholic Primary School - Remote Learning 2020) has been designed for the Students, Parents and Staff at St James only by the Staff at St James. It has been created using Google Sites, which is part of the G Suite of Educational Applications which at St James we will be using as our main platform for remote learning. In addition to the G Suite of applications some levels will be utilizing Seesaw to set learning tasks, particularly in the junior school. Only users with this published link should have access this site.

At this stage there are 6 tabs at for you to navigate on this site.

If the school is teaching remotely in Term 2, we have planned the following.

The first two weeks of the Term 2 will be dedicated to families setting up the learning environment from home, known as Getting Ready to Learn at Home. (Please click on the Getting Ready to Learn at Home Tab for further information).

Weeks 3 and onwards will be referred to as St James Remote Learning.

Kind regards,

Brendan Flanagan (Principal)

As you can appreciate with these changing times many of the events scheduled for Term 1 and 2 have now been postponed. These will be updated as soon as we have greater clarity as to how the school will operate going forward based on Government directive.
