Welcome to Mrs. Doenges' webpage! This can be a one stop place for students and parents to do some check in with the information that is being used on Google Classroom. The students should always be checking Google Classroom for the most updated information and assignments. This page will focus on English-Language Arts but does have a page for students within the 6D homeroom to check any due dates that may be available.
My syllabus for 6th grade ELA is available with the slideshow to the left. My course information for English and Literature is available in this area. Students and parents can also find the supplies needed for my classes, my goals for the courses, and my expectations. A schedule for the students is also available on this area. Sixth grade ELA is moving to Standards Based Grading this year, and those standards are shown in this document as well.

I'm Mrs. Robyn Doenges, and this is my 18th year at St. Gabriel. I attended a private Catholic school in Columbia, MO until I transitioned to a public high school in Fulton, MO. I then attended Westminster College for my undergraduate degree in Secondary English Education and completed my graduate degree (M.Ed) in Curriculum and Instruction with emphasis on Secondary English Education at University of Missouri-Columbia. I have certification in 5-12 English/Language Arts.
I started out teaching high school and have taught in both the public and private high school setting before moving to St. Louis.
I have had the opportunity to take part in many different writing experiences including the Missouri Writing Project at Mizzou (two times) and have attended Teachers College at Columbia University in summer 2019. I was able to participate in the Writing Institute that year with Mrs. Ronshausen, and we were lucky enough to meet Lucy Calkins and Mary Ehrenworth. In summer of 2021, I also completed the Reading Workshop training with Teacher's College. In 2022, I was also able to virtually attend the advanced Writing Institute.
I have also completed my Level One and Two Google Education.
I have 2 kids--one is still at St. Gabriel. My daughter, Chase, is at Notre Dame and is a Sophomore (Gabes Class of 2024), and my son, Gus, is in 3rd Grade. My family enjoys being part of the parish despite not being in the boundaries of South City. I have 4 cats--Boo, Duck, Binx, and Oreo. We recently moved (farther away) but are enjoying living on a small lake and seeing the wildlife in our backyard!
We always are needing wipes, various types including Chlorox and the Antibacterial wipes.
Hand Sanitizer is always welcome as well. 6D really enjoys the smell good stuff from Bath and Body Works. Apparently, Black Cherry Merlot is nice.
I always welcome new books to our library. I am constantly trying to update with new books and topics that are relevant to our society today.
Thank you!
