Implementation is one of the biggest steps that an Engineer can take. During the design phase an engineer can theorize and change things around as much as he/she wants to without any real issues, but implementation is where they finally have to create their product. There is still room to change things around, but the overall design will have to be built. Generally it will start as an MVP (Minimal Viable Product) and make its way up to being a full fledged release. The engineer will need to take into account the materials that are used, while also performing tests to make sure that they hold up to what the product demands. With a poor implementation a good product can end up failing miserably even if it has great potential.
