The Learning Environment @ Stella Maris Damansara (Secondary Wing)

A key goal for their lower secondary school years is for our students to develop study and learning skills that will prepare them for their upper secondary years, college/university, and beyond. During their lower secondary years at Stella Maris Schools, our students are provided with the pathways and opportunity to develop deep and meaningful understandings of specialist subject areas (that are part of the Cambridge International (CAIE) Curriculum).

Our students are challenged to think critically, question various concepts, express their thoughts, and to create and transform their ideas into action. They are also coached to become mature, independent and organized learners.

Our students are exposed to a variety of learning experiences, including classroom learning, experiential/hands-on learning, team collaborations, and opportunities to learn outside the space and environment of the classroom.

Our students begin to spread their wings and discover their interests in an encouraging, cooperative, and caring supportive environment. During their lower secondary years, our students learn to take challenges/risks; they learn responsibility; and they learn to love learning.

In development of student leadership, our students will be expected to assume leadership positions within the student body, acting as mentors for our younger learners.

We also aim to stretch and development our students to their maximum potential to equip them with critical life skills (socio-economic, academic, and behavioral) to succeed in their upper secondary years and beyond.

Classroom learning is enhanced through specialist enrichment sessions, such as music, visual arts, and physical education.

Character development is an integral part of the student's life of Stella Maris Schools, where we aim to instill in each of our students, the key qualities such as determination, teamwork, leadership and compassion.
