ATTENTION: There is a lot of functionality to explore with ManageXR. For the sake of simplicity, this page will list the most commonly used device management features and provide links to information that covers everything the platform has to offer. ManageXR provides an excellent resource that covers its device management in detail here.
The ManageXR tool can seem overwhelming at first. Let's break down some of the basic sections of the device screen to get a better understanding of what kind of information and functionality you have access to:
Basic Device Information (A): Here you can view and change the device's name, tags, and configuration as well as leave a note about that particular device.
Device Status (B): Here you can see if the device is currently online or offline, if the software and Configuration is up to date and the current battery level.
Additional Device Information (C): Here you can see more technical details about the device, such as which WiFi network it was last connected to, its onboard storage status, serial number, firmware, MAC address, etc.
Device Location (D): Here you can see where the device was last located when it came online.
Device Commands (E): Here you can remotely execute commands to the deivce such as remotely launching content, restarting the device, factory resetting the device, etc. Note, the device has to be powered on and connected to the internet.
With 'Devices' selected in the left navigation bar, you will see a list of your registered devices and multiple admin tools.
ManageXR provides two basic methods of searching and navigating your database of devices:
Search field (A): allowing you to search by device name, serial number, MAC address, or device note.
Filters (B): allowing you to limit your device database results down to particular Configurations, device tags, device models, or a variety of other device statuses.
With 'Devices' selected in the left navigation bar, you will see a list of your registered devices and multiple admin tools.
There are multiple ways to assign Configurations to device: you can navigate to a specific device and assign the Configuration from there, or you can select multiple devices from the database window and assign a Configuration to the target devices at one time.
To assign a Configuration to a single device, click on that device name in the database list and click on the 'Configuration' drop down menu and select the desired Configuration there. Then click 'Save Changes' that will appear above the device image in the top left of the page.
To assign a Configuration to multiple devices at one time, search the database for the target devices in the database window, click the checkbox on the far right of each device in the list, then click the 'Configuration' drop down menu and select the desired Configuration there. A pop up window will ask you to confirm your changes.
You can set the Configuration on a single device from this drop down menu.
You can set the Configuration on multiple devices at a time by checking the box for each target device and selecting the desired Configuration from the drop down as shown here.
Device tags are a great way to organize and quickly navigate your database of devices. To create a device tag, follow these steps:
Click on the 'Devices' tab on the far left navigation pane.
Click 'Add New Tag' at the bottom of the Tags list.
Enter a tag name.
Press Enter.
That tag will now be added to your list of tags to assign to headsets.
You can create multiple tags to suit your organizational needs, and you can assign multiple tags to each device.
