This subject is for students who love playing music and have basic-to-intermediate skills playing a musical instrument or singing.

Description
The focus of this elective is on the performance of music and the development of musicianship skills. Students will develop their music literacy (reading and writing), aural (listening) and performance skills across a wide range of activities. Students will also have the opportunity to express their musical creativity through composing and arranging music using a combination of instruments and music technology.

Music is an interactive and practical subject which demands high levels of student engagement. It is expected that students participate in all classroom activities, both written and practical, in individual and collaborative settings. Students are expected to complete frequent and effective instrumental practice in preparation for their performance assessments and other performance opportunities offered at the College. It is a requirement that students must have at least basic to intermediate skills on an instrument (or singing) to actively participate and gain from this course.
