QUILTING - SAMPLER QUILT W/6 INCH BLOCKS
A sampler quilt usually contains a variety of different quilt block designs using fabrics that coordinate. Because each block is different it is a great way to learn a variety of techniques. By making six inch blocks, we can learn several techniques and enjoy assembling them into a quilt, table runner, wall quilt, even pillows. Fabrics needed will be determined by the size of your project. This may be made with just a few coordinating fabrics, the same in each block, or with many different fabrics - as a scrap quilt. The scraps may be color coordinated or truly scrappy. The quilt in the accompanying example was made with scraps in a coordinated color palate. Some, not all, of the block designs will be taught in this class. Directions will be given each week for a few blocks; sewing will be accomplished on your own sewing machine at home. A rotary cutter, ruler and mat will be used. We will discuss everything needed in the first class. CURING KIDS' CABIN FEVER
Join us for five, 2-hour fun and constructive kid’s workshops designed for ages 5-10, children will engage in hands-on inventive activities that encourage learning through play. The session will consist of interactive games, scavenger hunts for exploration, team bonding and problem solving. We will have spring activities and monthly themes using our imagination and creativity. We will move our bodies by stretching and dancing to music and lastly, we will provide themed snacks for each session. Please contact me with any questions regarding activities or food/seasonal allergies. Please encourage kids to bring their own water bottles & wear a jacket, some classes we may be outside! We need a minimum of 12 kids.
