Dear Samakee Community,
We are excited to invite you to join us for some valuable parent workshops this November. Whether you are looking for practical strategies to support your child through adolescence or want to learn more about our plans for Key Stage 4, these sessions are designed with you in mind.
Key Stage 4 Information Sessions (Year 10 & 11)
Thursday 5th November, 3:00pm
Are you curious about the Key Stage 4 plans at Samakee? Join us for an informative session where we'll share details about Year 10 and 11, and how we'll support your child through this important phase of their education. This workshop is particularly suitable for parents and carers with children in KS3 (Years 7-9) but all parents are welcome.
This is your opportunity to:
Learn about the Key Stage 4 curriculum structure
Understand the qualifications and pathways available
Ask questions and share your thoughts
Whether your child is approaching KS4 or you're planning ahead, we'd love to see you there.
Supporting Your Child Through Adolescence - a Two-part workshop with Dr Jom: 11th & 18th November, 8:30am - 10:00am
Navigating adolescence doesn't have to mean awkward silences or high-pressure sit-down chats. Join us for a practical and supportive workshop designed to help you build open, ongoing communication with your child during one of life's biggest transition periods.
What we'll cover:
Breaking the Ice at Home - Moving from intimidating big talks to natural, everyday conversations
Understanding Puberty & the Teen Brain - Normalising development, understanding risk-taking and peer pressure
Building a Healthy Body Image - Helping children filter online media versus reality and teaching respect for boundaries
Practical Parent Toolkit - Actionable conversation starters and strategies you can use immediately
These workshops are designed with busy parents in mind - practical, supportive, and focused on giving you tools you can use straight away. Your input and engagement help us create the best possible environment for your children to thrive. We hope to see you there!
Light refreshments provided.
